Metal Injection Molding, or MIM (Metal Injection Molding) for short, is a method of injection molding in which metal powder is mixed with a binder. It starts by mixing the selected powder with the binder, then granulating the mixture and injection molding it into the desired shape. After degreasing and sintering, the binder is disposed of to get the metal product we want, or after subsequent shaping, surface treatment, heat treatment, machining, etc. to make the product more perfect.
This allows greater design freedom than many other manufacturing processes.
